6th Annual TK Conference

Early Edge California and New Teacher Center were pleased to host 400 educators and administrators for a day of professional learning at the 2017 sold-out 6th Annual Transitional Kindergarten Conference. Our thanks goes to the TK professionals who joined us to elevate and advocate for the important work they do to ensure children develop the skills they need to thrive in school and in life. Advocating for Transitional Kindergarten

This was an interactive advocacy opportunity to engage legislators or their staff in the state Capitol to showcase the benefits of transitional kindergarten programs in your school district. We thank Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon; Assemblymembers Rob Bonta, Jim Cooper, Cristina Garcia, Monique Limón, Kevin McCarty, Eloise Gómez Reyes, Tony Thurmond, Philip Y. Bridging Self Regulation and Oral Language Development

Building an Early Learning Continuum for Student Success

This workshop helps school and district leaders create seamless transitions for your TK students, developing a solid foundation for learning that builds from one year to the next. Designing Engaging TK Environments

In this session, participants examine the ways a teacher can engage, support and extend children’s learning during play. Engaging Children through Storytelling to Promote Comprehension

Children’s competence with constructing narratives can be greatly expanded through instructional activities guided by teachers. The Preschool Learning Foundations and other resources are highlighted to identify and discuss the developmental progression of comprehension. Participants practice and apply various interactions and strategies that support children’s growing ability to make predictions, connect to real life experiences, retell, reenact, and to pose and respond to questions about the content in stories.
